Challenge & Opportunity
Founded in 1918 and originally known as Eastern Bag & Paper, EBP Supply Solutions is a wholesale distributor offering top brands in the cleaning and foodservice categories, and complementary services and training programs throughout the Eastern US seaboard.

The company sought our help with the development of a new strategy, specifically the creation of a private label brand to transcend its multi-categories of supplies and services.  This new brand would need to resonate and serve its diverse commercial markets and generate a higher level of profit to the business.

Services & Solutions
To validate the initiative would fill an unmet or under-met void in the, Marketing Matters conducted due diligence for the client to ensure creating a private label brand was a solid strategy. Once validated, Marketing Matters developed the new brand and trained the sales function.

Conducted qualitative research with internal team and leaders, and external audiences to understand why this potential brand would be important, and how and where it could fill a void in the market. Simultaneously leveraged secondary research to learn more about the top competitors and their private label offerings to understand their strategy and our client’s opportunities.  Leveraged collective insights to validate the private label brand creation strategy and to inform the brand creation and plan development.

With the insights gained from through our market intelligence efforts, we began the process of creating a brand from the naming strategy and selection of the brand name, CERTO, to developing the unique value proposition, positioning, brand personality messaging, and areas of the visual identity coupled with a go-to-market strategy and launch plan. Naming strategy developed and chosen was intended to be concise, clear, and flexible allowing for multi-product category integrations. A full brand blueprint was completed for the client.

Creative Services included complete brand guidelines for execution of the brand on all digital and print platforms,  print development, and PR/Media Relations plan and communications outreach.

Developed in-person sales training and provided it to the large inside and outside sales teams to educate them on how to best present and promote the new brand to the market.

As the initial market entrant offering a comprehensive healthcare compliance SaaS solution for US market, this SaaS startup came to us with a brand name and logo, and virtually no branding, marketing, communication or sales to date.
